A Magenta Evening

Magenta is the forthcoming EP from LA-based producer & rapper brz. The EP explores themes regarding love, homesickness and change. Come celebrate and see the project live!

The show will be supported by performances from softpower & Broderick as well as to back-to-back DJ sets from local staples lovemydrew & FKA SHYPLANT. Bask in the sounds, inspired by colors (and smoke!).

Biosbrz (@brzraps) - brz - pronounced “breeze” - is Your Favorite Abstraction!

He is an LA-via Indianapolis artist brz is a rapper, producer, songwriter and sound artist, inspired by artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Broadcast, Vegyn and Rei Kawakubo. Since 2017, he has independently released 9 EPs and a slew of singles. In 2022, brz studied and collaborated with Nicolas Jaar in Overtones, a fellowship created by the Rising Artist Foundation. He is a part of a duo with producer & songwriter Qozy (Quinton Rief) called Luxury Weather, with which he has one project out. He has been featured on platforms such as Flaunt Magazine, Afropunk, and NTS. brz has opened for and shared stages with artists such as Chicano Batman, R.A.P. Ferreira (fka Milo), and Nicolas Jaar.softpower (@softpower.wav) - softpower is the moniker of Chicago born musician and producer Gabby Henderson. Combining imaginative and soulful vocal harmonies, softpower captivates audiences with their unique sound and mesmerizing performances that utilize electronics such as live looping and drum machines. With a diverse range of influences from Kimbra to Erykah Badu, softpower seamlessly blends elements of experimental electronic pop and neo-soul to create a distinctive and evocative sound. Entering the scene with the debut EP ‘THE KNIFE IN MY SIDE’ in April 2024, the singer/producer introduced us to their palette of lush, ethereal melodies, intricate beats, and introspective lyrics that resonated with listeners on a deeply emotional level. Shortly after, softpower released a single and video ‘STARSLAMENT’ showcasing their versatility in the rap genre. They plan to release their next project later in 2025.

FKA SHYPLANT (@m444y444)

FKA SHYPLANT is a DJ based in Los Angeles, known for spinning pretty much whatever the f*ck they want to; from 90s R&B, to breakbeat, to hyperpop. You can catch FKA SHYPLANT on their monthly radio show, SHYGAL RADIO, on KCHUNG. You might have seen them spin IRL at places like Resident and Paper Tiger Bar. FKA SHYPLANT is also widely known as their musician stage name, M4Y4, where they sing and produce dreamy, indie melodies and ragey punk music.

Broderick is a visual artist currently residing in Los Angeles. His other ventures include singing, writing, and playing with his kitten, Pusscilla. While currently writing his debut EP, Broderick is finding new meaning in creativity.

Andrew Johnson pka lovemydrew is a DJ/producer based in LA, and runs an instagram account/service called the Plotline (@plotline316). The Plotline’s aim is to highlight LA’s overlooked/beloved events, spaces, and actual gems of the city.
