After over a decade in the heavy music scene, releasing music with her bands SONIC RITUAL, THE OATH and GRAVE PLEASURES – the Berlin-based artist is now mixing punk, post-punk and hard rock under the name MAGGOT HEART. Both the 2017 debut EP City Girls and 2018 full-length album Dusk to Dusk was recorded together with drummer Uno Bruniusson (ex-IN SOLITUDE, ex-GRAVE PLEASURES) and bassist Gottfrid Åhman (ex-IN SOLITUDE). Ghosts of KILLING JOKE, POISON IDEA, THE STOOGES, VOIVOD and Patti Smith howl together in a noise rock stomp, bouncing back and forth between themes of escapism and frustration, alienation and elevation, ”dominance and submission”.

Known for her to-the-point style of guitar playing and intense live presence, Linnea Olsson's MAGGOT HEART has quickly grown to be one of the most talked about rock acts in the underground today. In Sweden Dusk to Dusk was nominated in the category Rock album of the year at the P3 Guld awards, and praised in music press worldwide. The past year, MAGGOT HEART has performed all over Europe and the US, including the prestigious Roadburn Festival and touring with VOIVOD

and KING DUDE. In the second half of 2019 Linnéa Olsson brings her band back to North America for one headlining tour and one as support to EARTHLESS, as well as five concerts in Mexico.

”Olsson's solo project seethes with dark death-rock energy and punk-rock melodicism, and "Medication" is a fun, gothic and danceable offering as apt to show you a good time as it is to spit in your face for even asking to

hang out.”

Revolver

”Maggot Heart would have bought CBGBs to ruin if they'd been born at another time, in another fetid city”

The Quietus

”I got goosebumps!”

Fenriz, Radio Fenriz

”Digging into her unsurprising well of influence, from Patti Smith to Voivod and Stooges to Misfits, 'City Girls' is dystopian street poetry with a glimmer of hope. [...] a force to be reckoned with.”

The Quietus

”Maggot Heart remembers when the guitar was an instrument of extreme self-expression, when songs were brutally infectious, when lyrics cut deep. [...] I cannot get these songs out of my head.”

Toilet Ov Hell

”'City Girls', sets its stall in the twilight zones between punk and post-punk, and the fevered, 4am moment of reckoning between nocturnal revelry and daytime drudgery. Raw but expansive [...]”
