Linying with Trash Pals at Resident

The latest body of work from Linying, House Mouse is the sound of an artist rediscovering the joy of creating with total abandon. In an evolution of her acclaimed debut album There Could Be Wreckage Here —a 2022 release made with musicians like former Death Cab for Cutie guitarist Chris Walla—the Singapore-born singer/songwriter follows her intuition toward a kaleidoscopic form of dream-pop elevated by her enchanting voice (an element she’s previously brought to her breakout single “Sticky Leaves” and to a series of massively successful collaborations in the electronic world). Both effervescent and emotionally intimate, the result is proof of the wild magic that comes from letting go and leaning into your most unfettered impulses.

Named one of Spotify’s 25 Most Influential Artists in Asia, Linying’s first single Sticky Leaves went viral on the platform’s global, US and UK charts in 2016, cementing the Singapore-born, LA-based singer-songwriter as one of Asia’s most promising talents. Since then, her music has received praise from tastemakers like Bob Boilen of NPR and pop star Troye Sivan. After signing a record deal with Canadian indie label Nettwerk Music Group, whose current roster of artists includes Matt Maltese and Vacations, Linying went on to perform at Summer Sonic in Japan and Bigsound Festival in Australia. Her music has continued to resonate with a diverse and international audience, featuring on Netflix’s Terrace House and HBO’s Industry. In 2022, Linying became the face of Spotify’s GLOBAL Equal Campaign and staged her first headline concert at Singapore’s Esplanade Concert Hall, performing to 1,000 fans.

Her debut album, There Could Be Wreckage Here, was featured on NME and includes collaborators like Chris Walla of Death Cab For Cutie. It was named one of NPR’s top albums the week of its release.

Trash Pals

Trash Pals is an indie rock duo formed by multifaceted artists Conor Rayne and Gabe Schnider. Their warm, upbeat songs encourage listeners to lean into how they feel, whether it’s the messiness of processing loss, the urge to dance until their legs fall off, or everything in between. After meeting as little kids at summer camp while both inconsolably homesick, these pals’ friendship spans nearly 15 years; their music is an extension of their trust in one another and a form of processing the joys and challenges of living life fully.Between Conor's track record with Brasstracks, Chance the Rapper and Mark Ronson, and Gabe's virtuosity showcased alongside artists including Wynton Marsalis and Jon Batiste, Trash Pals is set to bring a fresh and captivating sound to the stage.
