True Loves with The Neighborhood Orchestra Collective at Resident

Listening to the abundant sounds of the Seattle-based funk & soul group True Loves is like walking down a favorite neighborhood street, slapping five with friends, checking up with clerks in their stores, admiring your dark sun-glassed face in their windows, ducking under flowerpots and smelling the familiar scents of your most cherished locale. The band is it’s own block party.

What began in 2014 as a jam session between three of the city’s best - pocket-perfect drummer David McGraw, intoxicating bassist Bryant Moore, and otherworldly guitarist Jimmy James - has since blossomed into a global force that now features percussionist Iván Galvez and four horn players: trombonists Jason Cressey and Greg Kramer, and saxophonists Gordon Brown and Skerik. Together, the group’s live performances have garnered them much acclaim and millions of streams on YouTube.

In 2017, True Loves recorded their debut instrumental LP, Famous Last Words, which received worldwide adoration and earned them spots at coveted festivals. In 2021, the group released their sophomore album, Sunday Afternoon.

The Neighborhood Orchestra Collective (NOC) is a signature musical act in L.A.'s evolving music scene. Born in the Summer of 2020, NOC quickly captured attention with its magnetizing live performances and gained the support of influential musicians such as Joey Quinones, Tommy Brenneck, as well as industry icons such Grammy-winning producer Josef Leimberg, and nine-time Grammy-nominated multi-platinum producer, Kosine.
2023 marks an exciting turning point for NOC, underscored by the debut of our single "A Girl Like You" with legendary L.A. rapper, Murs. This debut single has shown phenomenal response, having achieved over 10,000 followers on Spotify and clocked in at over 20,000 streams, all within a month of its release. Continuing the group recently released their instrumental single, "In A Little Mood", mixed and mastered by Josef Leimberg in November 2023.
