Smokey Emery + Gel Set, Don’t Come to LA w/Dam-Funk, Negative Gemini, Resident Summer Series w/Ethio Cali

We’re one week away from the 4th of July, your one summer occasion to dress festive n’ foolish, drink to your heart’s content, fill up on a grotesque amount of BBQ, and get real silly in the name of the U-S-A.

There ain’t no party like a pre-party, so we getting you warmed up for the big day with a week of fun times. Tonight Smokey Emery and Gel Set are taking over with DJ Greh Holger. Thursday we’re doing the damn thing with Dâm-Funk at Don’t Come to LA! Curated by LA rap connoisseur, Jeff Weiss of Passion of the Weiss, this night is always a wild time and we’re turning things up with special cocktails from our friends at RedBull. Come through!

If you have yet to make it to our Resident Roundup Summer Series, you better pull up! Our garden oasis is the perfect spot to enjoy some outdoor music from Ethio Cali this Saturday afternoon with DJ Fat Tony. Always free and friendly, RSVP and boogie down in the daylight.

Saturday and Sunday we’ve got back to back nights of Sabbat with a few tickets for sale at the door if you’re feeling lucky and show up early. On Sunday we’re hosting a free record swap in the garden before the show from 2-6 pm with Sabbat fans. Score some vinyl and enjoy our patio.

If you’re a lover of Rumba and Mambos you won’t want to miss LA’s favorite old-school vinyl Latin dance party, Babalu to Boogaloo, as they celebrate 4 years! It’s all going down inside Resident from 12-6 pm on Sunday — we’re doing it ALL.

Monday night 7/2 is a special one as Rubio takes over our stage, presented by Viva Pomona! Remezcla calls her a “Chilean national treasure” and we agree — we’ve got major heart eyes over the Miss Garrison frontwoman’s new side project.

And before you know it, it’s time to put on your Uncle Sam suit and celebrate the 4th! The day starts with a special 4th of July Edition of Daft Brunch, ready to fulfill all of your dancefloor desires and of course supply you with all the overeating and boozing a true patriot could only hope for. If you’re more of a night owl, join us for an epic dance party! Drumroll please… Prince Vs. Rick James. Two nationals treasures and just about the best music to get funky to. We’ll also be curing hangovers on 7/5 with Here Lies Man. Study up!

In breaking news, we are seriously stoked to host Stumptown Worker’s Comp Party with The Coathangers and Dommengang on 7/13! We’re also excited to indulge in an event that celebrates one of our secret pleasures and that’s binge watching Bravo, namely Vanderpump Rules, while guzzling a glass or two of rose. Join us for Sexy Unique Podcast Live on 7/14 – we’ll be all talking all things V-Pump with the author of White Girl Problems, Lara Marie Schoenhals. Lisa and Giggy would be proud.

Finally, let’s pause and take a moment to time travel to the fall… the days are shorter, the air is cooler, and you’re 100% trying to see Mothers on 10/12, especially after listening to their new album on repeat after its recent release. You’ve also been non-stop jamming to Still Corner and feel so glad you scored tickets early to see them on 11/1 at Resident. How do you know this, you may wonder. Fear not friend! We can see the future and you’re in it. You’re the first to hear about shows, so don’t be the last to buy a ticket.

We probably won’t recognize you a week from today in your Lady Liberty headpiece, but hey, you’re still family. See you soon!
