Soft Kill, The Delirians, Soul Shakedown w/ DJ Clifton, Sexy Unique Podcast Live

You know what they say: wake me up when September ends. Well friends we’re rolling out our giant gong and summoning the roosters to issue a morning call that October arrives this coming Monday. Dust off your broom, harvest some pumpkins, because the witchiest month of all is right around the corner!

Tonight Portland band Soft Kill has a special residency on our stage with In Mirrors and Warm Hands. We’ve been eagerly awaiting this day for months, so don’t miss out on the excitement. If you need an anthem to get you through your work day we recommend blasting, “Trying Not to Die,” and following up with the show.

You blink and then the weekend is here — praise be! The Delirians are taking over our stage this Friday night with a healthy dose of Ska & Reggae to get you movin’ and groovin’. Your Saturday night is made better by our friend DJ Clifton spinning an all-vinyl soul set at your favorite party, Soul Shakedown! Bring your dancing shoes and show us what you’ve got!

Stacked in between these two late night festivities are the final performances of rock show meets musical, Lizzie. We flash back to the 1892 murder involving Lizzie Borden and are greeted with, “a mix of period wear, leather outfits, blistering punk-influenced songs, dance and, uh, axes.” Don’t miss this winning combination plus the all-star female cast that brings this historical true crime storytelling meets rock concert to life! Your last opportunity to join in this raucous event is on Friday or Saturday at 8 pm.

October brings us good fortune as we have a very exciting, fantastically LA presentation returning to our stage….you know it as Sexy Unique Podcast Live, the podcast solely dedicated to discussing all things Vanderpump Rules. Host Lara Marie Schoenhals is back with Carey O’Donnell to serve up some deep takes on all the Sur happenings, plus we’ll have DJ DedeBird spinning your dream soundtrack. Feel free to start your binge in advance with some new episodes and prepare to raise your glass.

In the spirit of a new month knocking on our door, here’s the latest fall rundown. Saturday 10/6 our favorite 60s dance craze party, Green Slime, returns to Resident with performances from The Night Times and Stranger Liquids. DJ Jumpin’ Jack Trash will be spinning the best Psych, Garage, Glitter, Girl Groups and Soul movers he can dig up. Come ready to dance to this authentic and psychedelic 60s revival.

Other exciting and recent calendar additions include Color TV on 10/16 and Polartropica with Wild Moccasins on 10/17. In November we have a very special edition of beloved Indian Beats dance party returning to Resident — on 11/17 join us for Non Stop Bhangra Diwali as we celebrate the Festival of Lights, one of the most widely celebrated holidays around the globe! Diwali is a time to spread positive energy for the coming year, while reflecting and celebrating the good fortune and relationships of the passing year. Let us all join in the festivities at Non Stop Bhangra!

Lastly we just announced ayokay is bringing his In the Shape of a Dream Tour to Resident on 12/4. You won’t want to miss this Detroit artist, both a friend and producer to fellow Motor City music maker Quinn XCII. Save the date to dance it out.

September, thanks for being so good to us! Cheers to a new month of hopefully seeing you a bit more, enjoying our fire pits with a beer in hand as we ease into fall.
